Youth Athletic Programs :

Youth leagues are offered by the city in conjunction with area recreation athletic associations which are volunteer organizations. The following sports are offered for youth ages.

Basketball: Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreation Center

Baseball: Mid-City, Frank Nelson, Daffin, Sudduth, and Woods fields
Football:  Frank Nelson, Kraft Field

Participants may play in most sports as long as they are attending school. Sports for children under 10 years of age are offered and supervised entirely by local athletic associations. Most areas charge a registration fee. Sports are offered on a seasonal basis and registration sites are located throughout the city. Sites and dates for registration are announced in the newspaper before registration begins.

Boys and Girls Basketball :

Panama City's Youth Basketball program is affiliated with the Florida Youth Basketball Inc. and is co-ed. The City's youth basketball program provides a competitive basketball program for youth that are 13 years of age or younger in the Panama City area. Registration begins in October and the season runs from November - February. Practices are held at neighborhood schools. The games are played on Saturdays at designated locations.

Boys and Girls Baseball :

Panama City's Leisure Services Department affiliations are determined by local associations and provides a baseball program for 8 to 18 year old youth in the Panama City area.

Registration begins February 1 each year and baseball league games are played from March through July. Baseball practices and games are held in neighborhood parks. If you are interested in volunteering as a coach or if you need more information about the program, please call Leisure Services.
