Speed Hump Program :

The City's Engineering Division administers and oversees the speed hump program.

Please be advised the City Commission, at their November 27, 2001, meeting, approved a policy regarding this matter. A copy of the complete document can be found on the Permit Applications link located on the right.

For your information, however, the first step of this process is for the person requesting the speed hump to present to the Engineering Division a letter with at least five (5) signatures, with addresses, from different, property owners on your street expressing their agreement with the request. When this is presented to and reviewed by our office, we will forward you a petition form, which includes a map of the surrounding area. The contact person must obtain signatures of at least 90% of all property owners in the affected area indicating whether they are for or against the request. At least 60% of the property owners in the affected area must be in agreement before the request will be considered. Further details are outlined in the complete policy document.

Please be advised that, due to rising construction costs, the City reserves the right to evaluate the use other alternatives in lieu of speed humps.
